I am an architect and urbanist, assistant professor of urban design at TU Delft, engaged in bringing together research, education, and the practice of designing for resilience and social-ecological integration in urban space. In my research, I develop methods and instruments to design, plan and assess urban resilience through spatial applications such as green and blue infrastructure and nature-based solutions. As an architect and urbanist, I support a practice of urban design that works with built and unbuilt urban space in an integral way, across multiple scales, from multiple actor perspectives, and in a strategic manner. During the graduation process, I help students to integrate the knowledge gained throughout the master programme and to develop agile yet methodologically rigorous design workflows. I put an emphasis on unbounded explorations in spatial design and I cultivate a transdisciplinary way of working in response to complex design assignments.
